Big Brew Time at TBBT: Building Community One Cuppa at a Time

Why Big Brew Time Matters at TBBT

At The Bread and Butter Thing, the food bags might get people through the door, but it’s the warm welcome, the chat and the cuppa that keep so many coming back. That’s why Big Brew Time has become a mainstay of many of our food clubs. It is simple, it is friendly, and it makes a world of difference.

A Simple Idea That Makes a Big Difference

For many of our members, life can feel like a constant juggle. A weekly brew offers a moment to pause, chat and feel part of something bigger. It is where neighbours become friends, where volunteers and members catch up, and where people feel seen and supported. It turns a food collection into a community moment.

52,000 Cups of Comfort and Conversation

Last year alone, we served 52,000 hot drinks across our hubs. That is 52,000 opportunities for connection, conversation and a bit of comfort. And with so many of our members telling us that they feel less alone and more connected because of TBBT, Big Brew Time is more than just tea – it is community in a cup.

Bringing Big Brew Time to Every Hub

If your hub doesn’t yet have a Big Brew Time, don’t worry. We’re on it. We’re working hard to make sure every hub has that warm space to sit down, share a brew and feel part of the Bread and Butter community. Because whether it’s January or July, rain or sunshine, we run 52 weeks a year – and there is always time for a cuppa.
