The Bread and Butter Thing is a Manchester-based, UK-registered Charity with No. 1169383.
Our activities focus on relieving poverty premiums for low-income families. We have built a membership model through which families with limited disposable income can access essential services including a weekly supply of fresh food in return for a low membership fee. We currently operate from numerous community hubs across the UK.
At the end of every financial year, we prepare Annual Accounts to demonstrate transparency and accountability.

Governance

Trustees oversee the organisation’s financial management, safeguarding, risk and long-term sustainability, while ensuring that all decisions are guided by our values and the needs of the people we serve.

Our Suppliers
We work with a fantastic network of suppliers, retailers and food partners who help us provide quality food at affordable prices for our members. By working together, we reduce food waste, support families and make sure surplus food reaches the people who need it most. Our suppliers play a vital role in helping us strengthen communities across the UK.
